Kidsome makes free printable activities for children aged about 3 to 12, and for the parents, teachers and carers who choose them. These guidelines set the standards every printable and every page on the site must meet before we publish it.
What we publish
We publish activities that work on paper: coloring pages, step-by-step drawing guides, color by number pages, mazes, dot-to-dot pictures, word searches, crosswords, word scrambles, sudoku, and handwriting and tracing worksheets.
We choose subjects that families and classrooms are looking for, guided by what parents and teachers search for, the seasons, the school year and the requests we receive. Every collection is planned around one clear subject and a stated age group before any work begins.
Suitable for children
Every printable must be suitable for a young child to use without an adult checking it first. We leave out anything a parent would not expect to find on a children's activity sheet, such as violent or frightening imagery.
Some printables feature well-known children's characters, toys or brands. We include them only when the source material meets the same standard, and we never present our printables as official products. We also keep our themes suitable for families of different cultures and beliefs.
Right for the stated age
Every printable is made for a stated age range, and its page says which. Pages for ages 3 to 5 use big shapes, few details and large areas to color. Pages for older children add detail and challenge. Puzzle sizes, word lists and difficulty follow the age group too.
Accurate and complete
- Every puzzle is checked to make sure it can be solved, and puzzles come with an answer key on a second page.
- Word lists are checked for spelling and chosen to suit the age group.
- Descriptions describe what is actually in the file: the subject, the number of pages and the age range.
- The preview image on each page matches the PDF you download.
Clear titles and descriptions
Titles say what the printable is. Descriptions say what is in the download, who it suits and how to use it, without filler or exaggerated claims. Every image has alt text describing what it shows.
Made to print
Every PDF is set up for US Letter paper with margins wide enough to print on A4 without cropping. Line art is pure black on white, so it prints cleanly on any printer and uses as little ink as possible. Our guide to printing our printables covers settings for every device.
Reviewed before publishing
Every printable passes automatic quality checks and is then reviewed by a person, page by page, together with its text, before it goes live. Nothing is published without that review. How We Make Our Printable Coloring Pages shows the process in detail.
Corrections and updates
If you find a mistake, such as a misspelled word, a puzzle that does not work or a page that prints badly, tell us through our contact page. We fix confirmed errors promptly and replace the file at the same address, so existing links keep working. We also revisit older printables to bring them up to our current standards.
Independence
Kidsome is independent. We do not accept payment to feature a product or a brand, and we do not publish sponsored content. If that ever changes, sponsored content will be clearly labeled. Kidsome does not show ads.
